King St East, Cambridge

Navacon was awarded a contract by the Regional Municipality of Waterloo to embark on a transformative initiative in the City of Cambridge to rejuvenate King Street from Dover Street to Bishop Street through a multi-year reconstruction project. The project addressed the deterioration of both the roadway and underground infrastructure. This comprehensive undertaking involved the replacement of concrete curb and gutter, sanitary and storm sewers, watermain, and sidewalks, coupled with the introduction of on-road cycling lanes. The enhancements extended to street lighting, GRT stops, and streetscaping, incorporating elements such as new trees, benches, and decorative pavers. Post-construction, private properties, including driveways and boulevard areas, were meticulously restored. The project aimed to not only improve urban accessibility but also enhance the overall aesthetics of the area, and give life to the underground infrastructure.
